“Katie” was born in Glendale, CA, has lived in Vermont, Maui and Washington, D.C.  After attending George Washington University and graduating with a dual degree in Anthropology and Peace Studies, Katie moved back to Maui. Katie grew up with twin brothers, one of whom was on the autism spectrum. From an early age, Katie learned the value of having an inclusive mindset and treating everyone with kindness, no matter their differences. It is her hope that through the creation of Brian’s Hale we will be able to create a more accepting and empowering atmosphere for individuals with special needs. In her free time, Katie enjoys taking her dog Bella to the beach and listening to mystery podcasts as they walk along the sand.
